The Wreck of the Liberty in Tulamben Bali
The probably best know  diving place of Indonesia laying only 5 minutes to walk from the Ocean Sun Divecentre in Tulamben. The wreck laying only 30 metres from the beach on 5 metres until 27 metres depth.
The wreck is 120 metre long and 16 metre wide. It was torpeded in the year 1942 by a Japanese destroyer and severely damaged. The crew tried to drag the freighter to the nearby Singaraja but it was failed. The ship ran a ground with Tulamben and  it lay on the beach there for the next 21 years. The last big eruption of the Agung volcano pushed the wreck back in the water   to the joy of all divers and snorklers. Today it is covered with a lot of soft corals and hard corals and offer a numerous kinds of tropical fishes a new home. Because of the very well visibility, the  position to the beach, the ideal depth for divers and the hardly appearing currents the diveplace is ideal for beginners, profis and snorkler.
